Ponta do Sol (Portuguese pronunciation: [ˈpõtɐ ðu ˈsɔɫ], English: Point of the Sun) is a municipality in the southwestern coast of the island of Madeira, in the archipelago of Madeira. It has an area of 46.19 km², and includes a population of just over as 8125 (in 2001): it is one of the smallest municipalities on the island of Madeira.
